vivo X100 Pro Plus tipped to come with 1-inch main and a 200MP periscope camera
Mobile photographers and videographers have a potential powerhouse to look forward to with Vivo’s next flagship smartphone that has just been leaked. Referred to as the X100 Pro Plus or X100 Ultra, this device is shaping up to be a camera-centric beast.
Starting with the front, it will reportedly feature a 50 megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor for high-resolution selfies and video calls. This sensor once used as the main camera on many midrange smartphones. However, the main highlight is the triple rear camera array.
The star of the show is a 50MP Sony Lytia LYT900 main camera sporting a massive 1-inch sensor size. This is the new top-end image sensor from Lytia. Lytia LYT900 is already used in OPPO X7 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. This is identical to the IMX989 1″ sensor used in vivo X100 Pro but improved. This should allow for exceptional image quality and low-light performance.
It gets better. There’s also a 50MP Sony Lytia LYT600 ultra-wide lens. LYT600 is a 1/1.95″ sensor with 0.70 µm pixel size. According to the tip, vivo X100 Pro Plus will offer a 200MP Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto lens simulating 85mm equivalent focal length. The result of using a high megapixels sensor instead of a longer optical zoom will be interesting.
Powering all these imaging smarts is Vivo’s custom V3 image signal processor, same as vivo X100 Pro. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship chipset is confirmed. Other leaked specs include the us of latest Samsung E7 OLED display and blazingly fast UFS 4.0 storage.
While pricing and availability are still unknown, a camera-focused flagship of this caliber is unlikely to come cheap when it eventually launches. But mobile photographers and videographers willing to invest in top-tier equipment will undoubtedly have their eyes keenly set on Vivo’s X100 Pro Plus.
The information we found through the current leak is very similar to the rumor of vivo X100 Pro Plus we covered last time.
More details are expected in the coming weeks leading up to the official unveiling of what could shape up to be one of the most capable camera phones on the market.
