Exclusive: Not all iPhone 15 are getting the new Action Button
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 series will bring some new exciting changes. Alongside the addition of the USB-C, Apple will also replace the Mute switch with a hardware key named Action button. Though the functionality of this new Action button is still unknown, we have a piece of new news regarding to this feature.
Recently, some netizens shared some images of the cases of iPhone 15 series devices. Phone cases are normally made before the launch of the actual phone. iPhone 15 series phone cases and screen protectors are already available in China for sale.
These cases reveal the design changes of the iPhone 15 series devices. Though there are not many changes in the design of the phones except the new Action button. As it’s a hard key, case manufacturers can create an actual button on the side of the case instead of the cutout used for the previous Mute Switch.
The images of the cases for the iPhone 15 series confirm that not all iPhone 15 models are getting this new feature. The new Action Button will be only available to the Pro models of the iPhone 15 series. The base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will have the traditional Mute Switch.
As per the track record of Apple, they only introduce new hardware changes exclusively to the pro models. Such as, Apple offered high refresh rate displays only on the Pro models of the iPhone 13 Series.
Following up on the iPhone 14 series, the new Dynamic Island is only available on the Pro models. So the Action button feature should be only available in Pro models of the iPhone 15 series.
But the USB-C will be in every upcoming iPhone. Apple will also release some of its older iPhone models with USB-C ports. This will let them continue selling their old iPhones for a couple of more years.
