Huawei may add satellite calling on P60, Mate 60 series
Huawei might add a satellite calling feature in their upcoming P60 and Mate 60 series devices. Huawei P50 and Mate 50, the current Huawei flagships, supports satellite communication. But this feature (in selected regions) is limited to just sending text to emergency services and even not receiving their reply. But this new technology is also developing so fast like others. Now we may get calling via satellite feature in upcoming phones.
Not only the hardware manufacturers, the software side is also improving rapidly. The upcoming Android 14 will add some satellite communication features. Google is developing a satellite texting feature for the Google Messages app.
In the meantime, we have received a piece of news that the Huawei P60 and Mate 60 series might get a satellite calling feature. This news was posted by a reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. It’s not completely new news. This was previously rumored back at the beginning of the year. But now, the news is from a reliable source.
Calling via satellite requires more advanced technology. Back then, when the rumor began, the technology needed to be redesigned to achieve calling via satellite. But the process seems to have ended faster than we expected. Though another rumor suggested that, Huawei’s satellite communication will allow sending short voice messages. But the chances are stronger that this new feature will be in China only, at least at first. Let’s wait and see which feature Huawei ends up adding.
In March this year, we heard that Huawei invested a huge amount in their smartphone business. They are trying their best to make the a better smartphone. Huawei Mate 60 series might use COC lenses to achieve next-level camera performance. The centered pill-shaped camera cutout rumor of the Huawei P60 series is still in queue to be true. We need to wait a few more days to get some confirmation from stronger sources.
